Joan Boyle

With 25 years’ experience in aesthetics, Joan was one of the first aesthetic practitioners in Ayrshire. A nurse for many years in both the NHS and private sector she has had a clinic in Ayr since 2004. She founded Quest Clinic in 2014. Joan is passionate about providing the very best care, products and treatments. Working in partnership with her patients she aims to understand their needs, discusses appropriate treatments with them before planning and delivering the best products and treatments to suit their needs. She is an advanced practitioner and delivers an extensive range of medical and aesthetic treatments.
Linda Waddell

Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Skin & Aesthetic Nurse Specialist in Skin health.
With over 15 years’ experience in aesthetic treatments , Linda joined Quest Clinic when it opened in 2015. Linda is a highly skilled Aesthetic Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner who wholeheartedly believes that we can look our best at any age and uses her knowledge and skills in aesthetics and nursing to help her patients achieve their goals. Linda has an invested interest in skin and can offer solutions to various issues including treatment, excision of skin tags, warts, milia sebaceous hyperplasia and facial thread veins. She will discuss skin care regimes and any concerns and advise a range of products and treatment options. Medical Aesthetics. Pigmentation. Dr Laura McGarrity Anaesthetist

Aesthetic Doctor & Consultant in Anaesthesia
Laura Graduated in medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2003. She undertook her Specialist training in Glasgow before her appointment as an NHS Consultant Anaesthetist with the Ayrshire and Arran Healthboard in 2009.
Originally from Ayrshire, Laura was keen to return to the coast to combine her work as a consultant with bringing up her young family. Her busy work life means that every day is different and she has a broad anaesthetic experience, allowing her to lead theatre teams working within a variety of surgical specialties. She is an experienced Cosmetic surgery anaesthetist working at BMI Rosshall, Carrick Glen and Glasgow Nuffield Hospitals and has had a private aesthetic practice since 2010 as part of the CAER group. Laura is a keen athlete and firmly believes in the benefits that can result from looking after mind and body with a healthy diet and regular exercise. She believes that combining a healthy lifestyle with subtle, simple non-surgical treatments can boost confidence and maintain a natural and refreshed appearance.
Jane Boyle

Jane has spent several years in various aspects of health and social care gaining a wide variety of skills. Her nursing career started in 2017 and, once registered, she spent some time honing her skills in Ayr Hospital before finding her niche working with patients in the community as a District Nurse where she cares for patients with a broad range of healthcare needs.
Her aesthetic journey started at the beginning of 2023 when she completed the first of a range of training programmes in aesthetic and skin treatments and is skilled in advanced muscle relaxing treatments, dermal filler augmentation and skin booster injections as well as plasma skin tightening and skin tag removal. She loves both aspects of her career and successfully combines both her careers in primary care and aesthetic nursing practice.
Jane has recently become a granny for the first time and absolutely adores her new granddaughter. When not working she likes to spend time with her husband, family and her Jack Russell, Mac, who thinks he’s top dog!
Lorna McKay

Advanced Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist & Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner
With over 25 years as an Advanced Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist in the NHS, Lorna has substantial experience managing patients with complex respiratory diseases. She has a master’s degree in Respiratory Disease Management and, with her skills and expertise, she has established Sleepwell Ayrshire, a dedicated Breathing Support & Sleep Apnoea diagnostic and treatment clinic at Quest Clinic. In addition, Lorna is an independent nurse prescriber and Aesthetic practitioner, dedicated to providing safe practice in Aesthetics, with ongoing training and educational professional development to provide the best patient care possible. When not working Lorna likes to spend time outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
Andy Smith
Aesthetic Nurse
Andy has been a staff nurse since 2011, specifically working in theatre as a scrub and anaesthetic nurse, as well as working with the Staff Care & Wellbeing Team since 2021. Andy’s Aesthetic interests are muscle relaxing and dermal filler injections and he intends to expand his aesthetics treatments to include skins peels, micro needling and more.
Miss Margaret Strick

Trained in the UK Ms Strick is interested in all aspects of cosmetic surgery. She also undertook sub-speciality training in Oxford, Sydney and Texas. As an NHS Consultant, she regularly undertakes breast reconstruction surgery, complex hand surgery and facial skin surgery. She also continues in academic and surgical training roles on the NHS, including undertaking responsibilities in the clinical training of Plastic Surgeons. Specialising in eyelid reshaping, breast enlargement, breast reduction and tummy tuck. Ms Strick also offers a full range of plastic & cosmetic surgery, Hand Surgery and surgery for skin cancers, lesions, moles and earlobe repairs / earlobe closure.
Mr Sanjeet Bhattacharya

Mr Bhattacharya has been a Consultant at Ayr Hospital since 2009 & his main interest is the management of breast cancer, along with a wide interest in general surgery. After completing his General Surgical training in Bhopal, India, Dr Bhattacharya widened his experience by working in Libya and the Republic of Ireland for a few years. Thereafter he moved to the West of Scotland to further his career in General and Breast Surgery.

Dr Sokolova is based at the University Hospitals Crosshouse and Ayr for her NHS practice and has consulted and operated for many years in Carrick Glen Hospital in Ayr, as well as Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow. Dr Sokolova can provide a full range of gynaecological services with particular interest in minimal access (keyhole, laparoscopic) surgery for menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain and incontinence.

Dr Kouatly has been based in Ayr Hospital for over 16 years practicing as a Specialist Rheumatologist after obtaining a Masters degree in Clinical Rheumatology from The University of Manchester. He has treated many patients through the NHS with various conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions, back pain, osteoarthritis, Lupus and connective tissue disorders. He has special interest in rheumatology ultrasound imaging and joints and soft tissue injections.

A local GP with over 15 years experience. Dr Ferguson also had a diploma from The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology as well as a Diploma in Family Planning and Reproductive healthcare. Dr Ferguson is also a member of the British Menopause Society and has a passionate interest in women’s health issues, combining her medical knowledge and experience with her other interests in aesthetics and medical technology.
Mr Gavin R Tait

After 23 years as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at Crosshouse Mr Tait retired from clinical practice in 2016. While he no longer sees patients he continues with a medicolegal practice providing reports on personal injury and clinical negligence for solicitors throughout Scotland and the UK.

A dedicated Nurse with over 35 years’ experience in both NHS and Private Healthcare settings including CCU, Cath Lab and latterly as Clinical Lead within Outpatients and Minor Surgeries Departments, Pauline works alongside, and supports consultants of various specialities at Quest.
Tara Drummond

Tara graduated from the British College Of Osteopathic Medicine, London in 1991 and the British College Of Acupuncture, London in 1996. She has gained experience working in Scotland at Auchenkyle in Troon, the Carrick Glen Hospital in Ayr and the Edinburgh Osteopathic Society. She has also worked abroad at the Shangdong University Hospital, China.
She has an interest in musculoskeletal conditions. Tara has a relaxed person centred approach combining hands on treatment with advice based on the individual patients needs such as posture, nutrition and exercise. She is a member of The General Osteopathic Council and The British Acupuncture Council.

Beauty and Semi Permanent Make up Therapist – Cheryl has worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years. Cheryl attained her Diploma in Beauty Therapy ITEC while working at Turnberry Hotel and Spa where she gained a wealth of experience. Cheryl expanded her skills by obtaining her Make-up and Special Effects Diploma while at Shepperton Film Studios where she worked on TV shows and commercials. She also studied Fundamental Micropigmentation and is skilled in semi-permanent makeup. Cheryl is dedicated to providing clients with a professional, outstanding service and there is no doubt that she always adds a ray of sunshine to everyone’s day.

Jardin joined the clinic in 2015 after studying and teaching in Spain, Jardin moved back home looking for something new and so she joined our team in time for our opening event, since then she has worked her way up and is now our Office Manager. With her organisational and people skills Jardin is a great fit for Quest. She will always welcome you with a smile and do what she can to help make your experience in the clinic an enjoyable one. In her spare time Jardin enjoys spending time with her family & friends.

Louiza joined the Quest Clinic Team in 2019 having had previous experience within an Aesthetic Clinic and over 20 years experience in Customer Service/Administration. Louiza is in charge of marketing and is always busy working on ideas for our social media platforms to keep new & existing clients up to date with fantastic offers, new treatments and services available at Quest.
